Abstract
Idiopathic intracranial hypertension is characterized by symptoms (headache, visual obscuration, and tinnitus) and signs (papilledema, optic neuropathy, and abducens nerve palsy) that attributed to raised intracranial pressure from unknown causes. Several mechanisms are suggested to explain the conditions so far but the exact pathophysiology remains to be discovered. This article reviews currently proposed mechanism of idiopathic intracranial hypertension.
